Wowgasm

You Enjoy the Game While We Take the Pictures!

GalesburgSports.com’s goal for the images we showcase are to tell stories. Why-well the expectation of a story from a photograph is what great photography is suppose to be about. My imagination, knowledge, and experience are the tools I use to weave a story (be it yours or mine) into each photograph, so hopefully, you my viewer can have a wowgasm by what you’re seeing.

Welcome and thank you for visiting GalesburgSports.com. A sports photography news blog dedicated to images that capture the athleticism, determination, intensity, and the passion that athletes bring to competitive team and individual sports in and around the Galesburg area.

Is this a commercial site? Somewhat, I would love to have you purchase prints of my work, it definitely helps me get to more events to provide more images for you to view. Is this a “Click-Away-Carl” site of every unedited image out of the camera, no idea what the photo is site? NO! This is a site for “sportacular” sports photography of these dedicated competitors, so you the viewer can take pleasure in the commitment put forth by those individuals and by our teams-some that may never get noticed by the local media because it doesn’t make them a dime or its not the flavor of the month sport.

A Little About Your Photographer

I’m a Galesburg Illinois based professional freelance photographer that photographs throughout Illinois and the surrounding states. I’m also a sports photographer for MaxPreps.com, the CBS Sports website for high schools and provide photographs to the Galesburg Planet. I have over 30 years experience looking through a camera’s viewfinder. I specialize in sports photography of all genres (from aerobics to zorbing). I’m also active in wedding photography (Illinois & Florida), event photography, photojournalism, adventure photography, senior portrait photography and real estate photography. Why so many fields of photography interests? Simply said, I’m constantly borrowing techniques from one photography field and implementing them into another. Think of it as broadening ones vocabulary to help tell a story that provides a bigger wowgasm.

Photography is an addiction of mine, and when not working as a photographer on assignment, you’ll still see me getting my fix by photographing anything and everything. If you see a “large” gray faced man prowling the sidelines of a sporting event with a Canon camera…..probably me (Del), give me a holler. I have a great sense of humor and enjoy talking about most anything and unlike some photogs you might see at an event, I don’t think I’m better than you and at the very least, I’ll wave, nod, give a wink, hand you a business card, say hi or ask if you’re a member in the Original-Snipe Hunting & Unified Cooking Society (O-SHUCS).

I (and our Studio-Cameo Portraits) photograph exclusively with Canon equipment. I currently shoot with two 1D’s bodies and use only professional grade lenses (from 16 mm-2.8 to 300 mm-2.8). What that means to you is stop action photography in almost any condition that will provide the finest images possible.
